The original image, modified in Photoshop Elements and slightly posterized, is the fifth generation crop before I decided on what I wanted to paint. As a studio artist I take large sized digital image files so I can crop them as many times as needed to get what I want to paint. I use a Nikon D90 and I shoot at FINE – LARGE to maximize the pixels for the image I am taking. You get fewer shots but the end results are larger and sharper images.
