Well what do we have here? With very little additional color the clouds have rolled into the painting. Orange, Yellow Ocher, Rose Madder, Indian Red and various Yellows. Those colors get blended together and then into the adjacent colors of the blue-sky areas. At this time I start to add white and pinks into the stratus clouds, (which have become my trademark) into the upper sky. I have to remember not to over work this area at this time because when I put the lower section of the painting in I will return to this area again and again to pull the entire painting together. Notice that I still haven’t put down any color in the foreground.
