In this picture you can see three things that are paramount in completing the objective of painting at this point. In the upper left corner you see what instigates this piece and that’s a photograph. Just below it are a box of pastel pencils instrumental in producing the sketch. The formulation for the painting was set when the photograph was first taken so all that has to be accomplished at this time is the layout of what needs to be done.

Unfortunately the printing of this photo is way lighter than it should be. We will have to deal with it until this goes to print. Hopefully it won’t hinder your understanding of what is happening.
