Trees have been added in this frame. As mentioned in the previous frame its lights and darks being used to playing against the other. Working all of the colors of fall into the painting is a lot easier that the boring summer color greens. Why? Maybe because green isn’t a great color for manufacturers to make and no matter what you use you want more. I tell my students that you put down the dark colors and then the lighter colors. The inter action of the light over dark mixes the colors together and now you have a infinite number of colors on you painting. Experiment with what you have and find out what different colors you can make. Actually what your doing is mixing colors on the (canvas) paper instead of a pallet. I have my favorite colors as all artists do and increase that selection by mixing on the surface or blending on the surface. We tend to use and reuse the same colors over and over and maybe that’s why an artist has her or his style. We are products of our own ?
