These two photographs were taken only an hour apart during the painting process and they represent a wide color range a painting can take on when it’s shot under two different lighting conditions.

If you’re an artist and you want to enter your work into competition you need to have the best slides you can get in order to compete against the other artist trying to get a spot in that same show. It’s my contention that you use a professional art photographer to take your photographs. No matter what you do for jury slide purposes it’s almost impossible for an amateur to take a photo of the same quality as a pro. Great art may be rejected because of bad slides while bad art can be excepted with good slides.
