This is a bad photo of the final painting. The sky at its zenith isn’t as dark as it shows here. I’ll have to take the painting apart and re-shoot it again. The river looks very good however.

But the intent of the painting is what I hoped it would be. I like it very much. The clouds are representative of what I’ve seen in the past. I like the trees and river effect. The river wasn’t moving very fast the day this photo was taken so the ripples are from the boat as the chase toward shore creating the interesting effects on the water.

The hardest part of this painting was getting started. I’ve had this photo on the easel for almost a year and it’s taken this long for me to paint the thing.

I’m happy with this the final results and hope you like it and I hope you have a better understanding of how I do a painting.
