Well it seems I forgot to take a picture while I was painting. Sorry, I got involved with the under painting of the Hay Roll and forgot I was taking progress photos. I added some splashes of contrasting colors under the grasses and added lighter green and umber colors over the tops of those colors. Actually I’m blending all of the colors as I lay them down one color over or next to the other colors. You’re told to work dark to light and hard to soft when using pastels. Here I’m using a hard pastel over softer pastel for effect. Experiment with the products you are using. Don’t just do what is expected, play and have fun. Cause problems and try to fix them so they aren’t problems in the future. Don’t say you don’t know how to fix a problem until you’ve experimented with alternate solutions. If you can’t you won’t, if you say you can you will. Gary Wick self taught via experimentation. What do you have to loose, a piece of paper??? Make it play not work.
